Abby's sharing on her revision skills
As a former student who once sat in your position, I vividly recall how intense this period was. I understand that many of you are feeling the pressure and uncertainty as the DSE approaches. This process is undoubtedly challenging, but it is an unavoidable part of everyone's journey.
Reflecting on my own experience, I can say it was one of the toughest challenges I have ever gone through. Just before the start of Form 6, the score weighting of my favorite program was adjusted. The heaviest weighting was assigned to my weakest elective subject, meaning that I had to improve my grade significantly in just a few months to secure a spot in that program. Adding to the challenge, I did not see any improvement in my Mock Examination, which was the last exam before the DSE. Fortunately, with intense focus on this subject in the last two months, I was able to achieve the grade I aimed for.

I used to organize my revision schedule into several sessions to ensure regular exposure to all subjects and avoid spending long periods on one subject, which could lead to feelings of boredom or burnout. During holidays, I usually revised four different subjects. On school days, I focused on two subjects, spending around three hours on each.
Starting from Form 4, I consistently practised DSE exercises by topic, finding them useful in clarifying concepts and deepening my understanding. After the entire syllabus was covered, I began practicing DSE papers by year to work on a variety of topics simultaneously and improve my time management skills.
I had completed the by topic exercises for several times in Forms 4 and 5 (though I do not have an exact count), while I had done the exercises by year 1 to 2 times. When I encountered misconceptions in specific topics after finishing some exercises by year, I would revisit certain topics to clarify the concepts.
The pressure from the DSE can serve as a powerful motivator that helps you surpass your limits. You will never truly know your limits until you push past them. So, believe in yourself and persevere. You can achieve more than you expect. When you look back on this journey in the future, I hope you will appreciate the effort you put in and feel proud of what you have accomplished.
Wishing you all the best in your DSE!
